780 Engine Knock 700 1990

Thanks for your reply. I did use assembly lube and rotated the crank/pistions several times before assembly. Everything seemed to be working ok. I did not change any of the bearings since they were in good shape. I noticed some hard resistance while turning the crank while the engine was on the stand, but it turned normal without any noises. I torqued the bearings to the prescribed lbs and as I said, everything seem to be normal. After assembly, the engine started fine without any noises, except there was an up and down accelaration as if the Auxiliary Air Valve was not working. I drove the car approximately 100 miles and then the engine started making this loud noise. I plan on checking the oil pump, therefore the pan has to come off. In the mean time I will check the bearings (at least the ones I can get to) and see if everything is ok. Will keep you posted.

thanks again,

Luis
