No start, long post 200 1988

One more thing I found on mine...the short length of flexible hose between the fuel pump and the pick-up tube on the in-tank assembly had split lengthwise along its seam, as well. I replaced this short piece of hose, too. I don't know if that was stressed into failure by my swapping of the pump, but if not, the symptoms would have been that the car would have cranked with no reponse, the in-tank pump would have been running, but the gas would have just been circulating in the tank.
