re-installing stock radio/stereo & Amplifier question(s) 200

My 91 had a broken aftermarket cd stereo and I want to
re-install a factory radio.
I pulled a TD-613 from a 240 at the salvage yard.
The previous owner of my 240 had rewired the system for power and
speaker install.

This is what I have discovered.
1) No power to the original power plug (fuses are all good).
2) When I found the Amplifier (behind cubby)the wiring from
the original radio power plug goes into the Amp. and then wiring returns
attached to the wiring that went into the Amp. This wiring
has a rectangle plug with about 8-10 wires. I suppose these
are for the speakers, but no sound produced when I test using
a speaker.
3) Black round plug that goes from the radio to amp. is there too.

Is it possible to by-pass the Amplifier, will the radio be worthless?

Somebody please tell me where to start.

Thanks,
Joseph
