960 steering is very tight 900

You will probaly find that it is the small universal joint at the end of the steering column where it joins the the rack just at the firewall inside the engine bay. The grease dries out especially on our right hand drive models where the hot exhaust is, and the joint becomes stiff. Spray it with WD40 or plus gas if that does not work heat it up and lightly tap it to loosen the hardened grease. If all fails replace it.
