Can I put a transmission from a 1991 740 turbo

into an 89 240? Sorry if it is a stupid Question! I have an 89 240 that won't go into reverse and a 740 that has been sitting about a year. The 740 worked fine until the motor went. What do I need to do before using the 740 tranny? I plan on replacing the rear main seal on engine and the front seal oon the trans. I also will flush the fluid once it is installed. What else needs attending to?
