Well it sounds like you have pinned it down to lack of fuel. A couple of things come to mind. I would take a look at your radio suppression relay, which has nothing to do with the radio, but supplies power to the injectors. The second thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump relay. Both of these can often be fixed if you're handy with a soldering iron. If you don't want to fix them, get new ones from FCP Groton or Eeuroparts. The radio suppression relay is under the hood, usually attached to one of the strut towers. The fuel pump relay is in the fuse/relay tray in the center section of the dash behind the ashtray. What usually happens is the solder joints fail and the connection opens. Take a look at the FAQ in the electrical section regarding relays. It'll show you what you need to do to resolder them and specifics about their locations under the hood/ in the dash. Its pretty easy. When you are talking about it running rich, you were talking about when it was idling while after spilling gas into the intake hose? If that was the case, its no surprise. Not exactly precise control of the air/fuel mix. If you were referring to when the engine runs normally, several things can cause rich running. If that is the case, a new post may be in order.
