Considering 1970 145s w/AT. 140-160

I am considering purchasing a '70 145s for $1200. Since only bricks that I have owned were much newer, '91 245 and '92 745, I don't quite know what I am looking at. Could someone answer some of my questions?

3spd AT on this wagon, is it reliable? Would it be good enough for daily drive plus long distance trips?

Is there anything that similar or compatible with early 240s? What about this model year, 1970?...Good year? anything in particular that I need to look/ask for?

The wagon is in good condition cosmetically along with the mechanical. The speedometer is a bit finicky. $1200 a good price?

Thanks folks!
