I have Bendix calipers... 700 1987

Hi folks,

I finally got around to looking at my brakes. A shop told me that the brakes were really worn and funky... a surprise, since the (admittedly crooked) shop I bought the car from told me they did the brakes in the last year.

The brake shop (which I trust... the good ol' boys there are honest) took a good look at the whole front end for me, and let me know that all the suspension stuff I was about to do (I had a box of parts in the trunk) was unnecessary - the brakes were the cause of:

1. Uneven handling
2. Steering pull
3. Poor mileage
4. Scary sounds

So... oh well, I spent $25 at Autozone for Bendix pads and will be doing the brakes tomorrow!

Ari

EDIT: The shop advised against replacing or rebuilding the calipers, even though they were sticky. They seemed to believe that replacing the pads and flushing the system, along with lubing the caliper pins, would solve the issue.
