Front Brake side pins 900

Hi everybody,

Just bought a 97 960 wagon with 96,000 mi. The car came with the brakes thumping. I traced it to one of the two slide pins on the drivers side brake rotor. One is free and the other (the rear one) is frozen in the bracket that it fits into. I tried some PB Blaster and a little heat but it won't budge. Someone (believe it or not a Volvo dealer) had been there before as there are plier marks all over it.

Does anyone have any tips on removing a badly rusted/stuck slide pin? I was thinking of removing the bracket, putting it into a vice and heating the you know what out of it until it gives but I also don't want to wreck the bracket.

I have four slide pins and boots on order from Autozone.

What's also the best grease to use when I re-install them?

Thanks,

Mark
