740 DL won't restart 700 1990

My daughters' car has been relegated to the garage because when she takes it out somewhere, it will not restart. It may not start again for a number of days. The weather does not seen to matter as it has occurred in wet and dry conditions, also warm and cool. It also doesn't seem to matter how long it runs. (from her stories and my experience it has been long enough to warm up)
The car has about 210,000 so the cost to repair is a big deal to her. It has a Bosch injection sysytem.
Any inexpensive thoughts to get that car back on the road.
