Removing front seats, could the Air Bag go off 900 1992

I read maybe here, that removing the front seats in a 92-960 could be very dangerous even after disconnecting the battery, is that so? how can it go off without battery power?
I want to remove the messed up leather covers and replace them with new fabric (it's too hot here and too expensive to replace with leather) but I am afraid the air bag can explode while removing the driver's electric seat.
Something special to consider while re-connecting the electric seats?
