Windshield Trim Clips 700

Anybody replace the little black windshield trim clips holding the chrome/rubber side and top trim on? Are these press fit into holes in the A-pillar? How are they held in? I need to de-rust the area and I don't want to do more damage in removing them than I have to.

By the way, the trim is easy to remove by pulling it down (for the side trim) or across (the top trim), right across the clips.
