lowering springs 200 1989

I enjoy my 89 brick, but I am constantly comparing it to my 80 bmw 635. I know it will never be a speed demon, but I am looking for stability and less side to side movement. I have ordered a strut tower brace, firewall brace, and am trying to get the seller of the IPD's here on this board to contact me for the sale, and then I will install the IPD's. My last portion of suspension tightness I am looking at is lowering springs, but not speed bumper rubbing low, only say an inch. If I did this is there specific shocks and struts that go with this, Bilstein HD's or sports?
