air flow meter, AMM, air mass meter fault, rough idle, just info 200 1984

had a rogh idle problem then got worse. I was in limp mode, and engine running pretty rough which points to air flow meter. Cleaned the air flow meter, did the meter checks, still noting on pins 2 and 6, and then went a little further and started to check system relay. a little resistance between contacts when closed, so had a spare (door lock relay, same but no tab to hook it up to firewall), and voila it works. This relay feeds your fuel pump relay, injectors and air flow meter. This is the second time i change-out one or the other relays(fuel pump relay). They must be under rated for the job. air flow meter works, vary screw (potentiometer) and idle changes, could not get a reading of an ohmmeter between 2 and 6.

any other info to share, glad to hear it
