OEM Block heater install tips? 200

Planning on giving the old girl a block heater for this winter (after 18 years and 266k miles, it's about time) and finally get around to fixing the ventilation thermostat switch this weekend and wondering if there were any tips to be had? I've got the volvo instructions for installing the block heater in a B230F in a 700 or 900 series, and I figure the project will go similarly, but just thought I'd open the floor up for discussion, if anyone has any.
