Alternative Tire Sizes? 140-160

Of the heap of 140 steel rims I have had, >50& of them had "5JJx15x40" stamped on them, the rest just has "5JJx15". All were the same size though - and had the same part number stamped as well. Some had "Volvo Import" stamped on them also. Maybe it depended what factory they came out of whether they were marked that way or not ?

Unforunately I took all 12-15 or so that I had floating around to the rubbish tip about 12 months ago when we shifted house ... otherwise I would take a pic !

re Paul's post - I found that 195s worked fine on 5" rims for normal day-to-day road use ... although I agree they are better suited to 6" ideally (I still run that size tyre, but on 6" Virgos for road use & 6" Sirius for my rally tyres which are also 195/65).
