Upper balljoint fitting - 73 142 140-160 1973

I would still like to know the proper torque on those pivot shaft nuts.

40-45 lb.ft for the upper wishbone shaft nuts.
100-130 lb.ft for the lower wishbone shaft nuts.
40-50 lb.ft for the bolts that attach the upper wishbones to the cross member.

I sit the hubs on car stands & tighten them in their normal ride height position, not at full droop.

I did not know about the alignment notch.

If you grab one, they move a long way from side to side parallel to that notch, but they hardly have any movement fore & aft, i.e., they don't do big circles like the tierod ends.
