Unusual no-start 700 1990

Gentlemen

The car is my 1990 745 T with 202,000 mi. and automatic transmission. I am the second owner and got the car at 80,000 miles. I posted earlier this summer under . I hope that this is a new topic, because the situation has changed substantially. Now the car is not running at all. I am close to calling in a Volvo specialist from nearby Madison or farther afield in Milwaukee.

There is fuel at the rail when cranking, the plugs are getting spark when cranking, the injectors each read about 11.7 volts with the ignition key in position II, and the camshaft is spinning when cranking the engine over, but there is no start. Also: this may be the culmination of what started as occasional longer than usual cranking to start way back in the summer of 2007, if you can believe that. I have no reason to believe that the timing belt has jumped or that compression is absent, because the car was running fine, if only intermittently, as recently as a few weeks ago . This decline in drivability has been gradual.

I will be grateful for any comments from the brickboard. Please excuse me for not posting faster earlier this summer. Thank you all.

Paul 740 T.
