Recently, took off the fan shroud on my '80 242DL to hose the radiator from the inside out(have no AC or PS). Amazing all the .... you get out that way. I didn't put the shroud back in. Seems to run OK. Does the shroud serve any function other than safety? Sure looks clean & simple up there without it. Thanks.
