New license plate lights and the fuse keeps blowing!!! 200

Ok 1990 240 Wagon with 248000 miles...

I have replaced the tail gate harness through both hinges as I was doing this I noticed the license plate lamp wires connectors were rusted (read GONE)so I ordered new assemblys from IPD replaced the connectors and now I have a short! that blows the fuse... I'm kinda referbing this car just to have a wagon to do ods and ends and a dog ride now and then and to see how many miles I can run up on it.....I've checked all the wires and everything looks good any pointers would be very helpful TIA!
