It was the coil. 120-130

This was a Borg-Warner coil. It was taped to the original (kaput) coil. It was a high resistance primary (3.8 Ohms when I checked it a few years ago). Since it was on the car when I got it I have no idea how old it is. A guess; circa 1995.

The replacement is the same specification, now taped to the armored coil as was it predecessor. I really should do that right one of these days...

The coil was probably installed at the same time the Crane Fireball 700 ignition box was wired in. The Crane unit requires a high resistance primary but does not require a ballast resistor to be switched in after start.

The Brickboard hid my signature and won't give it back.
