suspension 700 1987

Good evening all,
I have a "87" wagon that generates bottoming sound when I hit slight bumps in the road. Too me it sounds as though the shocks are bottoming out, but the same sound is generated from all four absorbtion points. Have ordered new boge's for the rear but will contract the front struts. My question is could the springs be the issue, I have read alot about the replacement of springs on Volvo's but I have never owned a car that outlived it's springs. tote641
