Turn signal stalk 200

My turn signals went out. I tried the hazards and they worked could hear klicking noise down by right leg. Went to pick and pull, i used a non-cruise control stalk, I mean I pulled a non-cruise control stalk, my cruise control didnt work anyway. I just cut the wires to the cruise control and mounted the new used one, it worked great. Everything is the same, same hookups and prongs on the noncruise stalk and cruise stalk except there are 4 wires coming out of the cruise stalk. You need some torq bits(gee why couldnt they use regular screwdriver tips?, maybe makes people think they have to go to dealer?) to get top and bottom cover off. I think I paid $7 or so at the pick and pull for the new old stalk.

Then I got to wondering if I could have rebuilt my old stalk. So I took it apart and it is just some contacts and plastic parts inside. I used a thin small screwdriver to open up a gap and pry near two small metal bendovers. Then I used a good utility knife for the area around the small metal divit prong whatever it was. It popped apart easy. It was very dirty in there, grey black gunk all over the contacts. I cleaned everything and raised or pryed up two contacts to make better contact. Since I already put in the new used one I was too lazy to actually epoxy the old one together and retry it. I am just suggesting that if you want to do it for free or maybe a cost of $2.99 for some epoxy then it maybe possible. And you will still have alot of epoxy left for other projects.
