Yes, some people seem to be able to glue them and I've read of glass fish tank glue being used too. For the easy way out, and they work well too, a pair of
"Help 76994 Window Vent Lock" from Amazon for $12.95 won't break the bank.
There are others around even cheaper. Having a pair "just in case" isn't a bad idea either.
