What type of grease can be used behind the caliper dust cover? 200 1982

I was to use silicone grease for the first time. I dont know if it will be suitable. Could it react with the caliper dust cover rubber?.

The idea is to prevent those pistons get seized in rust.

In the past I used grease lubricant that I inject with a needle attached to the grease gun. It makes a very small hole which I can live with. I am asking because I did get variable success with that method. It is far from perfect because sometime the lubricant seem to react with the dust cover rubber, it swells and become weak. There may be various rubber type on the market I suppose.
