544 Exterior Door Handles 444-544

Hello,

I do not know of anyone who has NOS or reproduction door handles.

The washer that retains the bezel and spring on the handle shaft is staked in place and you can simply grind the staked lip down with a file. Save the washer with the square hole as it should be reused.

You can redo the staking with a chisel after you have the handle rechromed. The bezel is stainless steel and all you should have to do is have it polished.

If you are worried about damaging the chrome, you don't have to re-stake as you can install the bezel, spring and washer assembly by pushing in on the assembly until you can insert the cotter pin though the access hole in the side of the door.
