Painting Corona wheels (pics) 200

A few years ago, I wire-brushed, sanded, paint-stripped etc. a really bad set of Coronas. I literally spent days. Afterwards I believe I used an etch-ground for aluminium before I spray-painted the rims. I took great care applying only thin coats of paint to prevent running. They came out quite okay, but it was a LOT of work.

THEN I learned that the local prison shop would blast and powder coat my wheels for less than what I had paid in materials. Sigh. They did a great job with my two sets of Virgos:
