Hello,

The plastic pin is spring loaded and not directly controlled by hydraulic pressure. The warning valve is basically a splitter, but with a sort of double headed piston that has pressure from each circuit on side. When pressure is lower on 1 side, the piston slides towards the side with less pressure and this allows the plastic pin in the switch to drop down off the pistons center ridge and make a simple ground connection that illuminates the dash light. According to the manual, the piston should slide over far enough to block off the circuit with low pressure.

You do not need to plug the hole where the switch is located. If it leaks fluid from that hole, then the warning valve assembly needs to be rebuilt.

I forgot that side of the caliper half that can be swapped, has the upper bleeder and if that half was not installed correctly, that bleeder would now point down and that of course would be obviously wrong.
