leak in coolant pipe next to the manifold ! quick fix and long term solutions? 200 1990

I removed the downpipe on my 240 to fix the automatic transmission cooling lines. After putting back the downpipe, I ran the engine to check for transmission coolant losses; everything is tight.

What is leaking now is the engine coolant pipe behind the water pump... a good drip when the engine is idling. When tooling in the area I must have hastened the arrival of a pin point leak in the metal pipe just vis a vis the joint betwen the manifold and the down pipe . Is there a quick fix for this such as splicing a rubber hose and clamps or JB weld or soldering ? Is the proximity to the manifold likely to cook the rubber hose and make it dry or crack ? What would be the correct inner diameter for such a hose?

What would be a long term solution? I suspect that because of corrosion the
pipe may spring more leaks. I may be able to get a pipe from 1986 240 but I do not think that the pipe would be lesss prone to leak than the one I have now on my 1990 and dont really feel like taking out the water pump to have to put it back right now. Any suggestions?
