If your starter bendix doesn't work out I may have a solution--I have a starter from a 264. If the weather is going to be decent the last weekend of the month I'll be travelling to Kershaw, SC to do photos at a Porsche club race. Then I'll head to Winston-Salem to visit my son and daughter and their families. Daniel has a shop in Thomasville--specializes in Mini-Cooper and BMW. I could leave the starter with him--or you could meet me at Sonny's where I sometimes stop for dinner on the way to W-S. Send me a note off the board if you have any interest.
