UPDATE to the dead gas gauge 200

today i got into the trunk and checked the sender for continuity which came right within specs for half tank.

i checked for continuity to the gas gauge with a 68 ohm resistor and got bupkus.

after removing the cluster i find the po has removed idiot light number 13...oil pressure light......HMMMMMMMM

no time now to check that swapped clusters with a know good one with almost same mileage and then went about to repair the front end oil leak which turns out to be an original obsidian like crank seal and failing intermediate seal. after pulling and replacing the 2 smaller seals my seal puller shattered the crank seal ...hard as glass.

all seals done change oil and filter put it all back together and start it up.

now the oil pressure comes and STAYS on under 1000rpm at idle only using 10/30 oil.

any suggestions for my next moves?

compression check was good before i bought the car.

mileage 138k 1993 940 regina
