transmission quirk 900 1996

This is a 1996 960 w/180,000 miles. It runs and drives fine. It Shifts through all the gears normally except: As it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear there is a very slight vibration. Doesn't feel like it's slipping but as it's transitioning from 1st to 2nd for about 1/3 of a second there is "tremor" as the 2nd gear takes over...Like I said - it's very slight and the first few times I thought it was a road noise.
The fluid was dirty(but not brown/black) so I had the transmission fluid exchanged and it had no effect on the vibration.
Should I be planning for a transmission replacement or is this something that could happen for years with no further problems?
I just got the car and know nothing of it's history other than it was well maintained for at least the first 100K but I have no records beyond that.
