Dash Cover Installation 120-130

After comparing prices for a couple weeks, I finally jumped on a free-shipping dash cover sale on eBay. I recall someone had a cracking issue with one off these...

The new cover arrived today in excellent condition. There's some adhesive an such in there and I get that I need to trim the high points on my warped cover to install it.

Even a dash cover represents a financial investment and I'd like to get it installed properly. So, can anyone offer me any pointers or advice on installing this cover - and of course avoiding the cracking issue...?
