Switch, Relay, Etc? 120-130 1968

when the foot dipper switch in my 68 failed, I lost my headlights. Clearance lights still worked. I drove with my foglights for a couple days...

I mad the signal-switch modification and had a issue with the headlights going off when I would hit the dipper switch. This turned out to be an issue with the relay.

Try a different relay maybe? check for power at the relay terminals.

You may have also simply lost a connection at the back of your headlight switch.
