high idle after high speed 200 1989

Here's an interesting one.

I drove the 245 250 miles last night, a trip that involved a lot of 75-80 mph highway driving. At a rest stop, I noticed that when I pulled in to park, the car was idling at around 1200 rpm (normal idle is 700-800 rpm). I shut the car down for 30 seconds, started it back up, and it idled at the normal speed. But after another hour or so on the freeway, it did the same thing. This morning, during my regular slow-speed drive to work, I had no problems whatsoever. Any idea on what might be causing this? TPS glitch prehaps?

Thanks for any input!
