Wiper Motor Issues 200 1986

Hi all,
My windshield wipers started giving me trouble - dragging along, awful groaning noise, would only work if on the fastest setting, then wouldn't work at all. After months of having no wipers I figured I'd have to buy a new motor but yesterday I flicked them on on a whim, and they worked, albeit as their same old groaning, slow, dogged self. After consulting this forum I decided that I probably had a loose magnet, so I took apart the motor and lo and behold, a magnet was loose. I re-glued it, re-assembled the motor, re-installed it with a new ground wire to compensate for the iffy brass strap, and... no wipers. I took it out again, disassembled the motor to see if my glue didn't hold (but it had), saw nothing else problematic, put it back together, and.... no wipers. Even when I plug it into another 240's connection, it won't run. Did I ruin the motor somehow? Is there another culprit? I assume it's not the relay since the whole thing won't work at all, and it isn't the fuse since my horn works. I'm at a loss!
