Need help changing to different speedometer 200

I had to change the power-lock rear axle in my 1990 240 due to excessive noise at coast. Replaced it with a 1041 from a 1993 240. Problem now is that the speedometer is reading 4 times normal. This is due to the fact that the 1993 has 4 times the teeth on the tone ring and uses a 40168 speedometer instead of the 10042 on the 1990. I thought I could just change the speedometer out but it turns out that the speedometer and the circuit board are different between the 2. Anyone know of any solutions for this problem?
