I think we just switched to winter gas here in CA. It's dispensed october 31-January 31 (even though winter lasts until late february or early march).
I noticed that I dropped mileage quite a bit - 47 miles on 2.66 miles. Which looks like 17.5 mpg. It could just be error from too small a sample, but anyway.
I also noticed that whereas my gas gauge has been stuck at 20% or less most of the time, it has started to move back up to half a tank. I'm expecting it to move up higher. Anyone else think something sticky was in my gas at one time and is now coming off in the new mixture?
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knows about it and if anyone else noticed a mileage change. Given the stuck gauge, my trip meter is the only way I know to get gas, although the gauge seems to work for the last 1/5th of a tank.
This is entirely separate, but has anyone noticed weird mileage changes on the first tank of techron injector cleaner? I got like 23 mpg with the cleaner on the first tank (this was on the same day) and by the third fill up, I was back to about 19/20. Maybe it lowers surface tension and makes for a finer spray? or makes it run a little lean, or maybe I'm hallucinating. I know I'm nitpicking but I was just thinking about it.
Welcome to winter everyone :D

PS no word from the insurance on the other car yet. Looks like I might have to get a lawyer.
