New Windshield Seal Failed on Installation 120-130

I also prefer to use plastic covered stranded electrical wire instead of rope. It's a little slicker, and with lubricant (I use dish detergent..it washes off easily and leave a nice lemony smell), I've never had a problem.

I do wonder about many current rubber compounds. I've had a few ball joint and CV joint boot tears at early ages due to rubber that just became brittle quickly. These parts came from different manufacturers and retailers, but exhibit similar failures. Anyone know if the EPA has banned some of the 'goodies' that make rubber last?
