1984 240DL Location of COLD START VALVE 200

Does anyone know where the COLD START VALVE (?) is located. Does the 1984 240 DL (gas) have a HOT START VALVE and where would that be located. I posted a question earlier about my Volvo's engine being pressure washed but had some imformation WRONG. It starts up perfectly when cold and you can drive it but when you turn it off, it does not start again. It CRANKS and wants to start but just can't crank over. We have to leave it for a few hours to half a day and then it starts right up. Husband has tried many things. We are now wondering about the COLD START VALVE and/or HOT START VALVE but the manual he has is inferior. We live on a small island to further complicate things which is ferry served. Thanks for any help. Patty
