odometer stopped working and its not the odometer gear...help!! 200 1991

hello all, my odometer stopped working the other day, so I pulled the instrument out and checked the gear ..it is in excellent condition. I went to my local u-pull-and pay and I found another speedometer I put the gear in and the same results the odometer does not work. Could this be some component on the main cluster that is bad, or in the speedo, please help.rf64
