power loss and bucking while warm 200

Hi Folks

My friend's '88 240 runs fine while cold, but after it's well warmed-up it hesitates and bucks. It still idles fine, but there is major power loss on acceleration. I had him fill the gas tank to try and eliminate the possibility of the pre-pump, but the problem still occurs.

I've searched the forum and seen references from bad plug wires to fuel pump/relay issues, but the posts I found didn't confirm a resolution. The tune-up on this car (with wires) is only three years old or so. Any input is much appreciated!

Jim
