Heater Core Leak 200 1985

I've got a heater core leak - I see coolant dripping down from between the two halves of the blower motor. Is there anything that would cause this (IE backwards hoses) other than a heater core leak? I do NOT have AC installed on the car.

Secondly, if I do have to repair/replace the heater core, can I get to it easily or do I have to pull out the whole blower assembly? I was thinking of JB welding it if I can find the specific leak location. Is there a good way to test these other than just a hose? Which way should water be flowing?

Thanks in advance!
-Phil
