Tips on M-410 Transmission Removal 1800 1970

Hello Unfortunatly my M-410 input shaft seal is leaking so I'm looking for some real life tips on how to accomplish. Since (unlike the M-41)the transmission and bell housing have to be removed together the Chilton's manual recommends draining the cooling system removing the upper and lower radiator hoses and the heater hoses from the rear of the engine. Also placing a wood block between the fire wall and the rear of the engine. If someone has experience with this procedure and can share any tips or insites of how they removed the transmission from the car I would appreciate...Thanks!
