1800E tires 1800 1971

Greetings, I need to replace these 165 R15 Toyo tires with a suitable size. My tire guy says he has sold a lot of 205 65 R15's as replacement for the 165 size, but he's concerned that the steering effort required for the 205's may be a problem without power assist. Has anyone tried this size and if so, what was your experience? The diameter is good so there should be no ill effect on speedo, gearing, etc. There is also a 195 size made by Firestone which might work but I think it will have more effect on speedo, (larger diameter). I think I can deal with the interference by modifying the stops on the steering gear. actually, the 165's drag a little anyhow. Best, Mike
