940 Turbo Troubles.... 900 1994

Hello all,
I was underneath my wife's 940 Turbo wagon replacing the 02 sensor when I noticed the waste gate connection had come apart, I hooked it back up, squashed a split washer on the shaft until I can get a replacement holder and took it for a drive. Well it idles and runs like crap popping and back firing and all sorts of trouble. So why would hooking up the waste gate cause all this, it was running ok before but not great, do I need a new waste gate? Not real familiar with the Turbo setup, or is it my new 02 sensor? 3 codes were set during the test drive, 322 113 and 221. Thanks for any help you can provide.
