For what it's worth, I have encountered a few 740 wagons recently, in my search for one.
Someone I know bought one in Toronto for around $1000 and sounds like he got a real deal.
I have seen one advertised in Ottawa (1989 only 100,000 kms, sold in one day, asking $2800).
I have looked at and considered one (1992, 240,000 kms, cloth interior, good records, 2 owners, very little rust, a few quirks, asking $1800 - needed entire exhaust system and probably front discs for safety/emissions; mechanic indicated a coolant leak at the head gasket so I passed on it).
Given the condition of yours, I would think you should be able to get at least $2500 for it, not sure what the market is on the coast for them. If I was close to you I'd probably be definitely interested!
