1969(ish) B20 engine 140-160 1969

I was thinking about that, as well... I'm still not sure I have the expertise.

IPD sells engine rebuild kits for around $500 that include:

Mahle piston set; head gasket set; pan gasket set; connecting rod and main bearings, wrist pin bushings; and an oil pump reinforcing ring.

Likely, if I go with this kit, I'd have to get oversized pistons (since I don't know the level of wear on my current ones) and have the cylinders bored out to the proper diameter.

IPD also has distributor tuneup kits and I was actually planning on buying a new cap, rotor, condenser and points in the near future.

If I were to go with the IPD rebuild kit, how difficult would that be and how many specialty tools would it require? And what other things would I have to do to an engine that has seen over 210,000 miles to rejuvenate it?

thanks
tim
