1969(ish) B20 engine 140-160 1969

I'm very interested in this subject as well: Namely, what's the minimum you would need to do to bring the motor back to stock condition, with no performance upgrades? (the "budget stock rebuild").

Let's assume no need for an overbore on the cylinders. At a minimum, I think you'd want to have the head overhauled and have hardened valve seats installed, replace the rings and the fiber cam gear, and probably install new oil seals in the block.

What else? Would you replace the cam as a matter of course (and, if not, how could you tell that it actually needed to be replaced)? Could pistons be reused (and how could you tell that they could be reused)?
