I am leaning towards a vacuum leak after what you have described.
You really need to pull every hose in the cicuit, right down to the Idle Air Control valve plumbing.
If you have cleaned the throttle body as per FAQs, then what you get a is a very stable steady idle.
If you make sure the Throttle Position Sensor Switch is adjusted so you can hear it click just as you crack the then you get immediate performance off the line.
If you have a bad Fuel Regulator then you can smell gas near the vaccum (THE VACCUM CONNECTION) to the FPR, indicating the membrane in the FPR has been compromised, rare, but it does happen.
If you are down near the Idle Air Control valve, you might want to pull it out and cleena it just for good maintenanc sake as per the FAQs.
If you can get a AMM to repalce the current one with then do it to eliminate the AMM as the culprit.
You may also want to poke your head down and take a look at the Crank Position Sensor wire to see if the insulation/sheathing is torn off or ripped - this COULD be a source of the symptoms - but, I doubt it.
CHECK for VACUUM LEAKS.
